HERMITICALLY SEALED, DIRECT
ACTING SOLENOID VALVES |
|
|
 |
Hermitically Sealed Direct Acting Solenoid Valves are manufactured as per the requirements of the compressed air, pneumatic industry & oil & gas sector where quick action & zero loss of air are the main required criteria. As they are Direct Acting Design (as opposed to Pilot Operated), the response time is very shor t (less than ½ second) which means that these valves are ideal for very quick On/Off operations or where split second response times are essential in any par ticular usage scenario. These valves are meant for use in pneumatic (compressed air) systems, in automation of factories & production lines, where such pneumatic systems are used. They can also be used in Natural Gas Service where such valves are used to control Gas / Hydraulic Actuators of large Pipeline Valves, which use the pressure of Natural Gas in the pipeline itself to power the linear or rotary motion of the Actuator. These valves are hermitically sealed by way of a metallic bellow rather than other sealing means such as diaphragms or glands & other seals which are less reliable over a long period of time in comparison to a metallic bellow. Fur ther, to aid in quick action & very low response times, and to overcome the one disadvantage that every metallic bellow has i.e. less flexibility as compared to other means of sealing (diaphragms, glands, seals etc.), a flexible but high-strength bellow material is
used i.e. Hast. C276. Besides these
inherent advantageous proper ties, this |

Nickel Alloy
(Hast. C276 – UNS N10276) is highly
resistant to corrosion and is also allowed
to be used for Sour Natural Gas Service as
per NACE MR0175-2002. Being Hermitically
Sealed (by this bellow), it is impossible
for the Natural Gas to leak to the
atmosphere and hence this valve also
complies to strict Fugitive Emission Norms
of Shell® – MESC SPE 77/312. The seat &
seals are made from Viton® which is a
elastomer with a very long shelf & service
life. The actuator / coil is impor ted
from proven manufacturers who guarantee
the operational life to be around 10
million cycles (1 crore cycles)! Of
course, for the customer that means a
tremendously reliable valve with very low
failure rates. |
